Woman Says Crazy Oprah Fans Injured Her

A woman has filed suit against Harpo and the "Oprah Winfrey Show" claiming crazazy fans were so excited about sitting in Oprah's audience they pushed her down the stairs, causing her to suffer serious injuries.

In court documents filed in Cook County, Illinois Circuit Court Wednesday, Orit Greenberg says she went to Harpo Studios in December 2006 to be an audience member for the "Oprah" show.

In her suit, Greenberg says that she, along with an "excess number of patrons," were gathered in a waiting room before the show. She says audience members were then told to enter the studio and sit "where they wanted," causing a stampede. She says was pushed down a flight of stairs as the rabid fans "rushed the gate" while pushing and shoving one another.

The suit alleges Harpo failed to properly control the crowd and was careless by allowing guests to seat themselves.

Greenberg says she has suffered "severe and permanent injuries" from the incident, and seeks more than $50,000 for medical care and other damages.

A rep for Harpo told us they do not comment on pending litigation.

288. There is something basically wrong with a society in which a woman can parlay her inability to mind her own business into a billion dollars.

292. I would think if it was a money grab they would have gone for more money, it appears that they are just looking for medical bills to be paid. That sounds reasonable. As for Oprah's audience being just fine, be there when they think there is a receipt for a car under a seat and you will see how crazy they can get. $50,000 is a very small lawsuit in terms of damages.

293. I don't think it's bogus. If it was, the woman would have greatly exaggerated her injuries and would have asked for a hell of a lot more than $50,000 to cover medical expenses and whatever other costs. I mean think about it, how many millions is Oprah worth? The woman is asking for peanuts. The case will probably settle out of court.

294. I am not a fan of lawsuits, but when it comes to Oprah she deserves to be sued. I can imagine how the cult followers would rush through a daycare knocking over cribs to get a better seat to see the Leader of their cult. I hope she conitnues to be sued until she goes the way of Michael Jackson BROKE

297. Jesse you are an idiot. A BIG RAAS I-D-I-O-T! Don't try to understand what I'm saying. It's people like you that make this world what it is today. You sound like a red neck a$$hole from the back woods of Arkansas. You are just jealous Oprah have the money that you want and you can't have it. Don't hate.. Congratulate. As for the woman trying to sue. Should she happen to win by the time her lawyers get theirs she'll be trying to live with you. Good Luck.. Seem like someone else looking for their 15 minutes of fame.. Don't break the flash bulb Honey....

298. No one has said if the lady was taken to the hospital by Harpo people. If she was seriously hurt I am sure that Harpo is aware of the incident. If she was taken to the hospital and did not sit through the show, perhaps she was injured and does have medical bills to pay. No one can really vote whether she deserves financial redress and punitive damages until this website publishes the entire story. If she was honestly injured she should be able to sue. If she was not injured, she should pay for wasting both the court's and Oprah's time.

Hey, rjw, get your head out of your AZZ so you can see the light of day. It's obvious you're an ignorant FOOL! You're just feeling insecure and resentful cause people like Oprah leave you in the dust when it comes to doing anything possitive and meaningful! What do you do to make things good for someone else? Ask yourself why Oprah bothers you so much? I DARE YOU! You won't like the answer cause the truth will cause you to go through the bends. In the end it's worth it because "the truth will set you free".
